July 2-3 was the official launch celebration for the Desford Heritage Trail, where 16 new permanent heritage boards were unveiled. To mark the occasion there was a village wide festival which saw Desford divided up into multi-period time zones; from Roman to C20th and everything in between.
The weekend was filled with hundreds of re-enactors, musicians, street actors, entertainers and encampments. Dozens of local community groups and businesses were involved from sponsorship to hosting and organising.
